Music of a wide variety in period and style
ranging from the serious to the frankly frivolous remains a
characteristic of all
Times & Seasons
programmes. An evening’s entertainment by
Times & Seasons
will often include
introductions to groups of songs and brief poetry readings, all
given by members of the choir.
Given
the choir’s origins, its concerts invariably include some sacred
works, ranging from those of the Tudor masters of polyphony to
contemporary compositions. With them come secular items spanning
the times of glees and madrigals, through folk songs and
spirituals to modern popular songs and novelties. Some of David’s own compositions and arrangements are usually featured.
